Fine-textured, cool-season perennial bunchgrass. Adapted to drought areas. Grows on dry, sandy, gravelly or rocky soils. Drought tolerant. Has good heat resistance. Grows more slowly than other fescues. Some varieties are used for turf where conditions indicate. Erosion control.
